Wool is a natural fibre produced by living animals w/o human intervention. Wool fibres naturally decompose in soil, releasing valuable nutrients over time. As bieq aims to provide a wardrobe that defies seasonal norms, crafted from biodegradable materials, merino wool is the perfect wool for little ones!
Its heat regulating properties helps to regulate body temperature by wicking moisture away from the skin, keeping you warm in cold weather and cool in hot conditions. Wool is also non-itchy and anti-bacterial, making it ideal to wear on bare skin. Merino wool is a perfect source of breathable warmth and therefore all bieq items are knitted from our signature wool: pure merino.

An adult merino sheep can produce between 3 and 7 (!) kilograms of wool each year. Wool fibre also naturally decomposes, releasing valuable nutrients back into the earth.
Its fine and soft fibres have a natural elasticity that allows the fabric to stretch with your movements, providing a comfortable fit.
bieq uses wool that is oeko-tex accredited. This means that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories has been tested for harmful substances. The oeko-tex standard is trusted worldwide.
The wool used for bieq products is sourced from sheep that have not been exposed to the cruelty of mulesing. This is a painful procedure that involves cutting skin from the lamb’s breech and tail. The resulting wound, when healed, creates an area of bare, stretched scar tissue where more wool can grow. This alligns w/ our view to produce ethical products.
